The Punisher‘s Netflix series has begun filming, and they’ve just added 2 new cast members to the team.

The first is ‘Micro’ who was hinted at during the end of Daredevil Season 2. Ebon Moss-Bachrach has been cast in the role. He used to be an NSA analyst “whose secrets may be of great value to Frank Castle and everyone around them.” Anyone familiar with The Punisher‘s comic book history will be aware that Micro was Frank Castle’s technical support, providing him with various gadgets and weapons. He even turned into a villain at one point in the character’s history.

Amber Rose Revah will be appearing on the series as Dinah Madani. Her character has been described as a: “highly-trained sophisticated Homeland Security agent who is vexed by the Punisher.” Unfortunately, not much else is known about the character. These announcements follow the recent addition of Ben Barnes to the cast. He’ll be playing Billy Russo, an old friend of Frank Castle’s. He’ll be running his own private military group named ‘Anvil’. Shadowy military organisation? NSA Analysts? Homeland Security? It’s looking like The Punisher will be as grounded as the rest of the Netflix tv shows. And we’re completely okay with that, and it seems like Jeph Loeb, Marvel’s head of Television, is too.

“We couldn’t be more thrilled about the remarkable talent joining Jon Bernthal in ‘Marvel’s The Punisher.’ Ebon, Ben and Amber are incredibly talented actors and we can’t wait to see them bring these characters to life.”

The Punisher is expected to arrive during 2017.
