Marvel’s Black Panther has gained another villain in the form of Winston Duke, who will play M’Baku – better known as Man-Ape. Variety are reporting that the Person of Interest actor will face off against Chadwick Boseman’s character, Marvel declined to comment.
Black Panther, directed by the brains behind Creed – Ryan Coogler – also stars Michael B. Jordan, Danai Gurira, and Lupita Nyong’o. Boseman reprises his role of T’Challa from Captain America: Civil War, taking over the African nation of Wakanda after his father’s death.
M’Baku is one of the most known villains in Black Panther lore, and has always been known as one of T’Challa’s biggest rivals. The report explains that several actors were tested in the role for the upcoming Marvel film before casting Duke – who’s rather new to the industry.
The movie is being co-written by Joe Robert Cole alongside Coogler, with Kevin Feige serving as Producer.
Black Panther arrives with his first solo outing in UK Cinemas on 9th February, 2018.
