Another comic book movie is on the horizon, and this time it’s from the genius behind Lucy and The Fifth Element. That’s right, Luc Besson is bringing a comic book to life. Valerian and Laureline is the comic, and it’s from French publisher Dargaud.

It follows Valerian, a space agent, and his colleague Laureline: together they travel the universe through space and time. Watch the official teaser trailer below!

This teaser doesn’t give much away in terms of plot, but it’s visually stunning. It looks a tad like Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, but it definitely gives off a unique feel. We’re intrigued to see how comic book and animated the movie feels, especially with a lead actor as talented as Dane DeHaan.

Valerian (Dane DeHaan) and Laureline (Cara Delevingne) are special operatives for the government of the human territories charged with maintaining order throughout the universe. Valerian has more in mind than a professional relationship with his partner- blatantly chasing after her with propositions of romance. But his extensive history with women, and her traditional values, drive Laureline to continuously rebuff him.

Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets is looking to hit cinemas on July 21, 2017.
