Squad Goals.

Suicide Squad is the collection of a group of villains tasked with doing something good, but also gives the government total deniability in case a mission goes south. The roster has changed throughout the years, but the cinematic team lead by Rick Flagg (Joel Kinnaman) will include Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Killer Croc, Enchantress, Slip Knot, Captain Boomerang and El Diablo. A very eclectic bunch of characters, and it should make for excellent on-screen chemistry.

It’s more than likely we’ll see them fight against each other at some point during the film. Like everyone else in the world, we’re unbelievably excited to see the new versions of Harley Quinn and The Joker, but we’re more interested in the characters we haven’t seen in live-action yet. Especially Deadshot and Killer-Croc, they have the potential to be great. The trailer looked very dark, and will probably downplay the comic-book cheese elements of some of these characters… lets hope it stays that way.

There have been several rumors of potential storylines for the film – the most prominent being that they’re chasing down an escaped Joker. And whilst that in itself sounds like a good premise – it’s very standalone, and DC seem to be gunning for connectivity. We’re bound to see something  tangibly connected to the other movies, so expect to see more of Lex Corp and a certain Caped Crusader.

We’ve already seen footage of Batman riding atop of Joker’s purple Lamborghini, but this could be in a flashback to earlier on in his crime-fighting career. It’s highly possible that the story may lead into another Suicide Squad film, or even into the upcoming ‘The Batman’ film – which will be directed by Ben Affleck. We’d quite like to see something similar to the animated movie ‘Assault On Arkham’, where the Suicide Squad have to infiltrate Arkham Asylum to stop a dirty bomb from going off.

With an all star cast, Suicide Squad is set to be one of the huge films of next year, contending against other superhero films such as; Batman V Superman, Captain America: Civil War, Deadpool and X-Men Apocalypse.
