Hellboy‘s reboot starring David harbour as Big Red has been anticipated for quite some time from both film fans and comic readers alike. Since Ron Perlman was seen as the man to play Hellboy, the recasting was met with some backlash. But after the first few images of the demonic hero began to debut, some fans were quickly convinced by Harbour’s take. (Ourselves here at Heroes Direct included!) The trailer had leaked to Streamable, but Lionsgate have now put the trailer out officially.

What did you think? We’re loving the comedic elements scattered throughout, and the music choice works brilliant. It clearly outlines the ramped up violence and gore that Neill Marshall has injected into the franchise in a heavier way than the previous Del Toro franchise. Disclaimer; we’re huge fans of the Ron Perlman movies, and they’ll always hold a special place in our hellish little hearts, but we can’t deny that the new film certainly looks good.

While the CGI doesn’t look quite finished, Hellboy doesn’t debut until April, so there’s still plenty of time for the studio to finish up post-production. What we do know is that the film will adapt two specific Hellboy story arcs; The Storm and The Fury alongside The Wild Hunt.
