News recently came out that a young Lando Calrissian will be involved in the currently untitled Han Solo prequel. Sources are now saying that Donald Glover, known as Childish Gambino in the music world, is the favourite to take on the role.
Glover has starred in The Martian and Community, he’s starring in Spider-Man: Homecoming, and has a show called Atlanta premiering next month – as you can tell, he’s hot property at the moment. From watching him in several projects, we think he would be able to play the witty, smooth character and he’s a no-brainer for the role.
It’s not confirmed that Glover has received the offer to play the character, and it won’t be known to the public until Lucasfilm loosen their grip a little. Phil Lord and Chris Miller, directors of the upcoming movie, confirmed that Alden Ehrenreich was their first choice to play the young Han Solo and that worked out perfectly, so there’s hope yet!
Calrissian first debuted in Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back when Han and Lando reunite. It’s clear they have some history to be explored, especially since Lando’s the original owner of the Millennium Falcon. Fans seem to be happy with this casting choice, so what do you think, would Donald Glover fit the boots of Lando Calrissian well?
The Han Solo movie is set to appear in UK cinemas on May 25th, 2018.
