With 2016 bringing two shaky movies for Warners Bros. and DC Films, we’ve decided to rank the movies that make up the DC Extended Universe thus far. Of course, we’ll update these rankings with the future movies (including Justice League, Gotham City Sirens, The Batman, and so on). Let us know whether you agree or not in the comments, we’d love to discuss the DCEU with you!
3. Man of Steel
Just like the other movies in DC’s Extended Universe, Zack Snyder’s take on the Man of Steel is extremely divisive. The noticeably darker tone than other Superman movies is one of the bigger elements that has DC Comic fans picking a side, but it’s hard to pick apart Henry Cavill’s debut outing as the last son of Krypton. For what it’s worth, we don’t think this movie is bad, and it’s definitely not as rough as Zod’s fate.
2. Suicide Squad
Suicide Squad was definitely different. Different from the trailers, different from the wacky tone in the promotional material, and remarkably different from it’s company in the DCEU. The villain is the obvious weak point of the movie, but who can hate seeing Harley Quinn in live-action for the first time? Will Smith’s Deadshot and the insane action are other highlights, too. The big divisive point of this movie? Jared Leto’s portrayal of the Joker. Read our review here!
1. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice
It may not be the best film ever, but Dawn of Justice brought us Ben Affleck’s Batman and Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman, two huge characters who were done to perfection. Elements such as Lex Luthor and the ridiculous conclusion to the conflict render this movie far from perfect, but it’s still the best thing we’ve seen out of the DC Extended Universe yet.
