If you’re on Heroes Direct, then there’s no way that you don’t know about Suicide Squad. It’s the latest movie based on DC Comics, and is arguably the most anticipated comic book movie of 2016. Featuring Jared Leto’s take on the iconic villain Joker, as well as Harley Quinn being brought to life by Margot Robbie, there’s not many comic book fans who aren’t excited for this movie to release next month.

It used to be a common thing that console games would release at the same time as superhero movies, but the past few years that tradition has died out. Instead, it seems as if mobile games are the next wave of complimentary entertainment for fans: introducing Suicide Squad: Special Ops. It’s a free game that’s available on the App Store and the Play Store right this second. Watch a load of fun gameplay below!

In this game, you get to play with either Deadshot and his rifle, Harley Quinn and her fabulous baseball bat, or El Diablo, who just loves to play with fire. Once selected, you’ll be in charge of a special team whose mission is to take down evil forces that head your way.

Warner Bros. describe this game as a “first person shooter action optimized for mobile play”, you explore the city and attempt to survive against your enemies by utilizing health packs and retrieving ammunition. There’s even an option to record High Definition footage whilst playing, so you can share it with your friends on social media. Sounds great, doesn’t it?

We’ve played the game ourselves and genuinely, it ran very smoothly and seems to fit in with the tone of the trailers we’ve seen for the movie: it’s eccentric and vibrant. The easy controls make the game instantly enjoyable, and it’s somewhat addictive too. If you’re looking to spend time with the characters before August, or you just want to kill some time, try Suicide Squad: Special Ops!

You can download it on the App Store here and on the Play Store here.
